Ooooo look, our Christmas menu.

Coming in from the cold:
Dust the snow of your shoulders with a mulled wine

Starters:
Wild mushroom and walnut soup with homemade soda bread

Fish:
Scallops baked in their shell

Main:
Venison sausages braised in white wine with caramelised chestnuts
Puree of potato, celeriac and garlic
Caramelised brussel sprouts with bacon

Pudding:
Traditional Christmas Pudding
Custard

Cheese:
A selection of Neals Yard cheeses and borough market chutneys

So, this is our menu for the Christmas meal on Saturday 5th December. Sadly no goose in sight. It was our intention to get goosed this christmas, but they unfortunately cost £80, which blasts us over our budget. Sob. Should be an amazing night regardless, l hope everyone manages to turn up in their Christmas chunky knit.

A crumb is born

Hello, if you've stumbled across this blog, then in truth you're probably one of our friends, or at least a friend of a friend; or is that extremely cynical? After all, this is the webby net and anything is possible.

So what's this all about then? Well, it's about 2 long term flatmates, and a wonderful idea; the idea to entertain others and learn a bit a long the way.

On one hand you have Willy (jim really), who likes to cook and entertain through food in an amatuer way. On the other, Lauren, a talented set design who can make pretty much anything. So when they sat together and thought, why don't we hold a dinner party, once a month, for open-minded people, that involved a theme, some food, and a befitting scene to do that in...well...it just seemed like it could be fun.

So watch this space. Details of the first dinner party coming soon.
